Support My Mini Monsters in the BUPA Great Manchester Run 2010
This year My Mini Monsters are doing the BUPA Great Manchester Run!
We've decided to burn some calories, have some fun and raise money for children who need it!
The BUPA Great Manchester Run is a 10k circuit around Manchester city centre, taking place on Sunday 16th May 2010. The event is to be televised for the first time, live on BBC television in a special 90 minute broadcast. We'd love your support if you're in the area as we'll definitely need some motivational help to keep us going!
As if running 10k on a sunday morning isn't a big enough challenge, we've also set ourselves a fundraising target of £500. We'll be raising money through sponsorship and donations in an effort to help the children of Derian House Children's Hospice. Whilst caring for terminally ill children and young people is the primary aim of the hospice, Derian House also provides practical and emotional support to the parents, grandparents and siblings of those with life threatening illnesses. Located in Chorley, Lancashire, the hospice has a wide catchment area stretching across the North West from Carlisle to Manchester. With less than 10% of funding coming from official sources, the reality is that the hospice only receives statutory funding for nine weeks out of the fifty two that it is open.
